About UsLife Skills Program -Let's Help Them Young
In recent times, facts have emerged that about 20 percent of Australian and 27 percent of young people will experience a mental illness or behavioural disorder during their lives. Unfortunately, when mental health issues are not identified in young people at the early stage, it leads to full blown life-long mental illnesses, which otherwise could have been prevented. Accordingly, there is the need to design an informed and focused life skills program targeted at young people with a view to combating mental health and behavioural problems. The Life Skills Program, with the slogan “Let's Help Them Young”, was designed to address the problem while also reinforcing the importance of obtaining life skills in the formative years. The program is an eight week program with participants meeting once a week to participate in various group programs and activities including role playing, games, video clips especially designed to help equip the participants with necessary skills. The participants will walk away from the program with a sense of hope and confidence that they could deal with challenges and pursue their dreams despite difficulties that may arise. All participants will be presented with a Certificate of Participation. |
